Why Love My Mind…

The Love My Mind Non Profit Initiative was founded by the Anderson family in memory of Mark Anderson, who struggled for years from addiction and also from the darkness of depression, which was compounded by an addiction to alcohol. Mark took his life in November of 2018. During the grieving period the family recognized a desperate need for awareness and support surrounding mental health, addiction, and suicide. The initial vision of Love My Mind was to facilitate awareness, offer financial support, and to start more open conversations surrounding the stigmas of mental health via speaking engagements. The Love My Mind brand was kick-started by Dragon’s Den / Shark Tank’s very own Mr. Wonderful…Kevin O’leary which opened doors for financial support as well the Love My Mind clothing was created and sold online at lovemymind.ca/shop. Love My Mind will continue to raise funds to promote and spread awareness for mental health and fund smaller projects related to suicide prevention, addiction and other related illnesses that affect the lives of our loved ones. This will be accomplished through the words of our conversations, speaking engagements, events, and the sale of Love My Mind apparel. Along the way founder Darren Anderson began to create important relationships with mental health and wellness counsellors, speakers, advocates and health care people. Having these amazing partners allowed for the We Connect Community Wellness Initiative to come to fruition and offer much needed support tools, resources, information and education to those who struggle during these uncertain times.

We know that we will not save the world, so let’s just start with one life …
